Being experienced by 30 years activity in Georgian Shipping Company we have had founded the IALKANI Ltd. Batumi on the eleventh of January 1998. Since there was the surplus of about 3.000 International Maritime Organization – IMO – convention certified seafarers in Georgia – found ourselves were being in a position to get real opportunities for the proper employment of those marine specialists.

Our approach to the own activity had transformed the IALKANI in the Leading Georgian crewing company and the sole one was certified as per IMO-ISO 9002-1994 International Standards Organization.

At the beginning – having the idea of foundation of IALKANI, we had the clear notion about the truth that: the placing a business at the right place, and time at the right knowledge – is the key to success. To be successful in the concrete environment, the crewing company should have some control over the source of its business.

The incontestable facts of the good ability of our seafarers as well as their certification as per requirements of International Maritime Organization – were provided our intention to be the optimum respondent to the demands of the market.

We believe that the place for establishment of IALKANI is opportune. For Batumi always was, is and will be one of the Georgian important ports and locates in a country dedicated to trade. Batumi, as the capital of Adjar Autonomous Republic, always was counted as the stronghold of safety and it was realized as the worthwhile gateway to the Silk Route.

Unlike world’s other ports Batumi initially was known just as one of the centers of the Georgia’s marine activity that later was practically completed upon Foundation of the Georgian Shipping Company (Gesco) with its head office placed there. The wide practices of seamen successfully worked in its network have got the additional glory to the Gesco and its home town thereto.

At present, upon completion of planned first stage of existence of the IALKANI – it is found now as the quite productive and reputed one that is essential to keep up reliable performance and reputation.
