We are currently seeking a dedicated Business Development manager to be based out of our New Jersey office to work in the North East market. They should have well rounded experience in European, Far East and Sub Continent trade lanes. This position is responsible for developing new sales, maximizing existing sales and product marketing and customer support for our products.
Responsible for the growth of import and export volumes of FCL, LCL and airfreight by securing new business.
Sales solicitation of prospective accounts in core markets as well as seeking other opportunities.
Identifying and properly qualifying business opportunities whilst maintaining an active sales pipeline.
Input and update sales activities.
Continually developing and maintaining existing customers.
Communication closely with customers and operations department to assure uniform understanding of customer expectations relative to operational solutions, timeline, costs and results, including SOP ownership.
Directing operational issue to the correct operational owner.
Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent related work experience.
3-5 years of freight forwarding / NVOCC sales experience.
Strong negotiation and presentation skills.
Desire and ability to provide excellent customer service required. Position will interact with customers by phone, email and in-person frequently.
Professional demeanor, including excellent written & verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Windows program, specifically Word and Excel.
Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
