MMA Offshore is currently accepting expressions of interest from Chief Engineers, Engineer Officers and ETOs in relation to vessels operating in North West shelf and north Australia over the next 12 months. While we are not actively recruiting, we are creating a candidate database for potential future vacancies on Platform Supply Vessels, Offshore Support Vessels or Anchor Handling Tug Supply vessels providing marine logistic services to the Oil and Gas industry.

Marine Engineers and ETOs

Chief Engineers

Skills and experience

Required:

  • STCW III/2 Chief Engineer Unlimited or equivalent AMSA Certificate of Recognition
  • Demonstrated experience as a Chief Engineer offshore

Advantageous:

  • DP Maintenance Certificate
  • Frequency drive training
  • System control training
  • Azimuth propulsion training

Duties will include:

  • Complying with all HSEQ policies and procedures as well as ensuring work instructions are undertaken in a safe and competent manner
  • Ensuring the safe operation of the vessel's engine room, machinery spaces and equipment in accordance with Flag, Statutory and Company Conventions, Rules and Regulations
  • Implementing and promoting the Company's policies, procedures and management system on board the vessel
  • Performance management of Engineers as deemed necessary and in accordance with Company policies and procedures

Second Engineers

Skills and experience

Required:

  • STCW III/2 Class 2 Engineer Unlimited or equivalent AMSA Certificate of Recognition
  • Demonstrated experience offshore as an Engineer

Advantageous:

  • DP maintenance certificate
  • Frequency drive training
  • System control training
  • Azimuth propulsion training

Duties will include:

  • Assisting the Chief Engineer in ensuring the safe operation of the vessel's engine room and machinery spaces in accordance with Flag, Statutory and Company Conventions, Rules and Regulations
  • Maintaining all vessel equipment and machinery in accordance with Flag, Statutory and Company Conventions, Rules and Regulations
  • Ensuring the implementation and promotion of the requirements of the MMA Management System in his/her area(s) of responsibility

Engineer Watchkeepers

Skills and experience

Required:

  • STCW III/1 Engineer Watchkeeper Unlimited or equivalent AMSA Certificate of Recognition
  • Demonstrated experience offshore as an Engineer

Advantageous:

  • DP Maintenance Certificate
  • Frequency drive training
  • System control training
  • Azimuth propulsion training

Duties will include:

  • Assisting the Chief Engineer and Second Engineer in ensuring the safe operation of the vessel's engine room and machinery spaces in accordance with Flag, Statutory and Company Conventions, Rules and Regulations
  • Supporting the Chief Engineer and Second Engineer in ensuring all vessel equipment and machinery is maintained in accordance with Flag, Statutory and Company Conventions, Rules and Regulations
  • Assisting the Chief Engineer and Second Engineer in ensuring implementation and promotion of the requirements of the MMA Management System in his/her area(s) of responsibility

Electro Technical Officers

Skills and experience

Required:

  • Advanced electrical certificate, electrical trade certificate or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience offshore
  • STCW VI/1 Certificate of Safety Training (CoST)

Advantageous:

  • DP Maintenance Certificate
  • Frequency drive training
  • System control training
  • Azimuth propulsion training

Duties will include:

  • The repair and maintenance of vessels’ electrical equipment including rotating electrical machinery, associated frequency converter drives, navigation, automation, alarm, control and power systems (including DP systems)
  • Performing the necessary work, control and inspections in order to renew the certificates of the above equipment
  • Assisting the Chief Engineer in ensuring implementation and promotion of the requirements of the MMA Management System in his/her area(s) of responsibility
  • Assisting in the requisition and purchase of electrical spares, services and consumables

Additional criteria:

  • Place importance on health, safety, security and the environment above all other requirements
  • Be willing to adapt to new systems
  • Hold a STCW VI/6 Security Awareness Endorsement
  • Hold a valid Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC) or able to meet requirements
  • Hold a valid AMSA Medical Certificate or equivalent
  • Hold a valid Passport with a minimum of 6 months currency
  • Be able to apply for and meet National Police Certificate requirements
