Description

Vessel Captain, or the Relief Captain when acting in his or her capacity as Captain, is the Master as well as the Manager of the vessel. The Captain shall be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the vessel, including, but not limited to the safe navigation and piloting of the vessel, the seaworthiness of the vessel, the safety of the crew and any passengers, protection of the environment, protection of the cargo or property of the charterer, charterer relations, bridge administration and paperwork, cost control, crew supervision and on the job training, and other responsibilities that may be assigned by the Company or that the Captain recognizes as essential to his/her responsibility as Master and Manager of the Vessel.

License Requirements

US Coast Guard Licensed Master of Motor Vessels of at least 1600 GRT
STCW-95
FCC Marine Radio Operator's Permit
ARPA Endorsement
Oceans Endorsement
Dynamic Positioning "DP" Certificate
Preferred Experience

3 years as Master / OICNW for a non- trade restricted 1600+ GRT vessel
1 year experience as Master or Mate aboard OSV's
Dynamic Positioning by Oil Rigs experience
GMDSS Operator
International Experience preferred
Schedule

schedules vary by vessel.
Vessel crewmen work 12-hour work days. Location: Worldwide
