Candidates go through a stringent recruitment process to ensure they possess suitable academic credentials and relevant work experience for the position they are applying for. During the recruitment process, in addition to conducting interviews, Thome also utilises a web-based tool to assist in matching candidates with the right skills to their applied position.

Once onboard, new shore-based staff undergo a New Employee Orientation program, introducing them to the Thome Group, familiarising company policies and briefing on responsibilities and training for their respective positions.

A performance review is held twice a year to assess the work performance of each member of staff and will be carried out using Success Factors - a web-based tool which reviews competencies and identifies the training and development needs of each employee. Prompt follow-up in the form of performance improvement plans and training are initiated when training and development needs are identified by the staff manager.
