Aweidhia Crew Management is a Manning agent of several Bulk Carrier shipowners i.e OLDENDORFF CARRIERS GmbH & Co. KG a German Ship Owner with the network of one of the world’s leading dry bulk operators, LUBECA MARINE GmbH & Co. KG, Lubeck
and TRANSOCEAN MARITIME AGENCIES Bulker shipowner based in Monaco.

95% of the fleet we manned are bulk carrier with different tonnage i.e, VLOC, Capesize, Panamax, Supramax, Kamsarmax, Handymax, MPP, General Cargo, Coaster vessels and Self unloader bulk carrier. And 5% for offshore vessels, currently we are manning total 87 Bulkers and General Cargo and maintain regular crew about 700 Officers and Ratings onboard our managed vessels.

Selection and Recruitment of Seafarers.
Our objective is to provide our principals with the best quality of seafarers available, and to achieve this objective we have established a selection systems, which while appearing to be somewhat protracted, does provide a through evaluation of the technical knowledge of job applicants, which, linked in with a formal employment reference verification systems, provide the appropriate criteria from which assessment can be made of the practicality of recruitment.

The selection process is shown on the following page in flow chart format, however is supported by the company procedures Manual on seagoing Staff and is available for principals perusal.
Check lists are used to ensure process control and verification of the selection and recruitment systems.

Selection testing commences through use of the computer based evaluation systems, CES 4.1 the systems provides for the company to select specific criteria relating rank and vessel type, from which the computer randomly selects Approximately two hundred multiple choice questions, which are supported by a diagram or display on the screen. The evaluation of each applicant takes in between one or two hours, and the conclusion an evaluation report is produced, which categorizes the result of specific aspect relating to each position,

Following the acceptable CES Evaluation, the applicant is interview and a written appraisal is completed relative to the position, at this time the character and level of English of the applicant is assessed.
Should the applicants be assessed as suitable following the process, reference checks are obtained from the last two employers, and recorded on the appropriate form.
