Some 25 years ago an enthusiastic partnership founded ARA Group, a privately owned company, involved in ship owning, shipmanagement and shipbroking.

The Group’s shipowning and shipmanagement activities are based in Werkendam, The Netherlands.

ARA Shipmanagement B.V. takes care of the daily management of her own, privately owned short sea fleet, a modern fleet of multi-purpose and container vessels which are deployed world-wide.
The technical, commercial and operational management is all done in house by ARA Shipmanagement B.V.

All Sale and Purchase activities of the ARA Group are handled by ARA Ship Brokers Hamburg GmbH based in Hamburg Germany. Besides acting as the in-house broker on behalf of ARA Ship Management, ARA Shipbrokers GmbH. is very active on the competitive Sale and Purchase market as well.

ARA Shipbrokers GmbH acts as in-house broker on behalf of ARA Shipmanagement which is an continuous Buyer for diverse tonnage. In addition to that, ARA Shipbrokers is very active on the competitive Sale and Purchase market and being specialized on the container feeder segment up to Panamax size and MPP tonnage from 3-30k dwat.
