More than 100 seafarers and shore- based employeesmore than 5 million tons of dry cargo carried within 2017. Records show that the Fafalios family started its journey as Master Mariners and Owners of sailing vessels in the mid 19th century. The family’s experience, which was acquired over several generations, has been successfully incorporated into the present- day ship management services offered by Fafalios Shipping SA. The company has utilized the experience of several entities even prior to 1968, such as Nea Tyhi Maritime in Piraeus, Fafalios Ltd. in London, Meandros Ship Stores Ltd. in Cardiff and Homeric Maritime in New York.

Fafalios Shipping SA was established in Piraeus in September 1968.

Since that time, the company has specialised in the management of dry bulk carriers, varying in size from 8.000 to 130.000 dwt and for periods ranging from 18 months to more than 20 years. During those years, more than 20 Newbuildings have been supervised, ranging from ice- classed 8.000 dwt forest product to 13,500- 17,000 dwt general cargo/ multi purpose ships and 28,000- 75,000 dwt bulk carriers. Today, specializing in the management of dry bulk carriers, Fafalios Shipping SA provides a wide range of services. The 6th and 7th generation of our family is presently involved in the business, while most of them are actively involved in industry bodies, such as classification societies, the Baltic Exchange, the ICS, the UGS, the GSCC, P&I Clubs and others.

Thanks to our people, who are our most important asset, and our long- standing experience in the operation of vessels, the fleet managed by Fafalios Shipping SA is recognised by national and international institutions for its technical excellence.

In 2018, Fafalios Shipping SA managed to achieve a great ratio of 0.74 deficiencies per inspection during Port State Control inspections, in comparison with the Greek- flag bulk carrier average of 1.98.

As of June 1, 2018, Fafalios Shipping SA fleet consists of 5 dry bulk vessels with an aggregate capacity of more than 320,000 dwt, mainly consisting of Supramax and Panamax vessels.
