GOLDEN DESTINY was founded in 1994 as an independent Shipbroking entity by Michail D. Kokkinis, a well-known shipbroker with global reputation, former President of the Hellenic Shipbrokers Association and since 1993 Honorary Consul of Poland.

From its contemporary offices on the famous Akti Miaouli, GOLDEN DESTINY renders comprehensive Shipbroking services in all fields of Sale and Purchase, Marine Insurance, Period Chartering, Market Research, Shipping Consulting and Ships' Valuations. The company's commitment to quality was marked in 1998, when GOLDEN DESTINY became the first Shipbroking entity in Piraeus to be certified with ISO 9002. Whilst now the company operates under the updated ISO 9001:2008, certified by Bureau Veritas.

In 2006, following almost two years of market research, and in order to further expand its existing services to its clients, GOLDEN DESTINY established a division specializing in Marine Insurance Broking and Consulting, covering all marine risks and offering reliable and competitive services.

In 2009, GOLDEN DESTINY received the "SHIPBROKER OF THE YEAR" award at the Lloyds List Greek Shipping awards.

In 2011, GOLDEN DESTINY expanded internationally and established an office in Istanbul, which after 4 successful years has further enriched the Company’s activities and contacts in the wider region.
