International Maritime Services (SINGAPORE OFFICE)
With an emphasis on craft with water-jet propulsion systems, International Maritime Services has specialised in commissioning, delivery and crew training on high-speed ferries from 1985 and has since delivered more of these unique ships than any other company in the world.
Due to the quantity of new-build ferries that IMS commission and deliver, their specialist crew has an intimate knowledge in the use of the latest bridge and engine-room equipment. Having this experience with various types of equipment allows the crew to command and operate any new vessel with the minimum of fuss and handover requirement.
A high percentage of ferries delivered by IMS are built and surveyed to function in coastal operations. As a result, all deliveries that are carried out across ocean waters, require special permits and exemptions to comply to all statutory requirements and arrive safely.
IMS has ‘the runs on the board’ to satisfy flag state authorities that they possess the knowledge and skills to relocate these vulnerable vessels to their new destinations. Highlighting care and responsibility executed by their team of experienced crew, is the 100% success and safety record; all vessels have arrived without incident, ready to operate.
IMS consistently proves that Australia is not too far away to offer ship delivery services at globally competitive rates. No matter where the new or secondhand vessel is or where it has to be relocated to, please take the time to make contact for an obligation free quotation by the very next business day.

Training Delivery
International Maritime Services (IMS), an experienced maritime operating and training services organisation provides training services to maritime crews. A Training Needs Analysis (TNA) is conducted to confirm the exact training requirements and the tailored training is provided to all crew and can be delivered at our training facility in Fremantle, Western Australia or at an overseas venue chosen by the operator The knowledge and skills delivered in the familiarisation and operator training is complimented by the Ship’s Information Book (Craft Operating and Maintenance Manuals) and the operational and damage control procedures.
The proposed training solutions take into consideration that the crew are often required to continue operational activities at a significant tempo in parallel with the introduction of their new vessels. Our training experience allows us to design a phased training program that minimises disruption to operations during the transition period. The conduct of training courses is in accordance with the ship delivery schedule and coordinated to ensure the crew has a minimum transition time between ceasing operations on their outgoing craft and resuming operations on the craft.
The IMS training solution is based on sound instructional design and delivery techniques, featuring a blended approach that optimises classroom theory with practical on-the-job training. Where possible, the practical components utilise the actual vessel that the crew will be operating. This approach minimises the risk of training delays and reduces operational downtime.
Training design and development focuses on how best to achieve the training outcomes in the learning environment. This process includes a review of the current crew training materials in order to develop tailored course materials for face-to-face training by maritime instructors. Course materials developed includes a course map, session plans, student materials, instructor materials, practical activities and assessment materials. Where possible, course materials are actual ship’s operating and maintenance documentation.
Commissioning & Sea Trials
IMS is trusted throughout the industry for supplying reliable, appropriate and highly skilled personnel to commission new build vessels for shipyards across the globe. The commissioning captains and engineers who work fulltime in the company are specialist operators of high speed craft and diesel engines.
These experienced professional captains and engineers are regularly called upon to either take control or assist the yards commissioning crew to run up and test the function of the vessel’s bridge and engine room systems, working with both manufacturers’ technicians, and in many cases the classification, and flag state bodies.
Because of our experience in high speed ferries, especially ones fitted with water-jet propulsion systems and high speed diesels, we have been invited by yards in the UK, USA and Singapore to assist with the commissioning trials and delivery of their latest new-build vessels.
Superyachts
Management
Experienced yacht captains, engineers, and chartered accountants, have extensive yachting and commercial shipping expertise, with “hands-on” practical experience in managing every aspect of superyachts, from new build through to final sale. This ensures that you receive a platinum management service which provides total peace of mind. Our current management fleet ranges from a 37m motor yacht to 77m new build.
Relief Captains & Engineers
Superyacht clients routinely rely on IMS for long haul ocean passages at the end of each cruising season, enabling Captains, Chief Engineers and other crew to take time off in preparation for the next season.
IMS has a small pool of trusted professional yacht captains and engineers available for short term engagements such as crossings, yard periods or mid-season.
