Kaptanoglu family is one of the oldest shipowners in Turkey with hunderd years of maritime experience and tradition. H. Ismail Kaptanoglu, the founder of Kaptanoglu shipping, was a captain in his father’s ships in the beginning of the last century. Those days were the last period of Ottoman empire when shipping in the empire's terriotory was controlled by foreign companies. Kaptanoglu was one of the pioneer families in shipping business in Turkey. 

Just like many others, the company started to grow with the republic of Turkey. H. Ismail kaptanoglu and his five brothers worked with their father until 1950. Then, he established his own company and later, his three sons joined him to from one of most well-know family shipping company in Turkey. H. Ismail kaptanoglu was one of the founder of Turkish Shipowners Assocation. His sons carried on their father’s mission and they have been serving Turkish shipping community as well as fulfiling official duties. Today, Kaptanoglu Group is active in almost every segment of shipping bussiness such as shipowning/operating, shipbuilding and agency sevices. The group has recently entered new sectors.

The Management System applies to all activities carried out the by the Company related to the full management, operation, and chartering of vessels and subject to range of current conventions, statutes and codes of practice.
