A subsidiary of Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines (IRISL).

Listed by the European Union on July 26, 2010, as an entity owned by IRISL; removed from the E.U. list in January 2016 as part of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action; on September 10, 2008, added to the Specially Designated National (SDN) list maintained by the U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), removed from the SDN list in January 2016 as part of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.

Designated by the Canadian government in July 2010 as an entity contributing to Iran's proliferation-sensitive nuclear activities or to its development of chemical, biological, or nuclear weapons or their delivery systems; designation prohibits Canadian parties from providing goods or financial services to the entity or dealing in property held by the entity.

According to the U.S. Department of the Treasury, IRISL and affiliates provide logistical services to Iran's Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics (MODAFL).

Has international office locations in Astrakhan (Russia), Aktau (Kazakhstan), Baku (Azerbaijan), and Turkmenbashi (Turkmenistan); owns and operates general cargo vessels for transport to countries in the Caspian Sea region.
