The history of the Swiss shipping company SCYLLA AG began in the 1974 season with the MS SCYLLA.

In the last 40 years, tens of thousands of satisfied passengers have spent unforgettable weeks on our ships.

The large number of repeat guests,and the constant expansion of our fleet confirms to us that we have found the right ‘recipe' for a lovely holiday with our luxurious yet informal river cruise liners and their friendly crews.
We have always tackled new tasks with a pioneering spirit:

From our first route down the river Rhine, the area covered by our ships has gradually expanded to see them cruising nearly all the major waterways of Europe. The first cruise liner on the Main-Danube Canal was a Scylla AG ship, and similarly on the river Po in Italy.

Our fleet, too, has grown steadily, undergone renewal and now includes 23 of the most beautiful, modern and comfortable river cruise liners to sail the rivers and canals of Europe. All Scylla ships travel under the Swiss flag

Not only the luxurious and spacious Suite Ships, but also our 135m ship are revolutionizing the river cruising industry, both in terms of their size and concept.

The Scylla AG ships travel under the Swiss flag and are the most modern fleet of river cruise liners in Europe.

The strict safety regulations of the German underwriter Lloyd and the Dutch shipping authority, as well as the technical equipment with river pilot, radar, echo depth sounder and the most up-to-date navigational instruments always guarantee a safe journey.

We have also been concerned about the environment. The refuse press, the environmentally friendly diesel engines and the biological sewage plant on most of the ships ensure that pollution is kept to a minimum.
On some of our ships, we have been particularly concerned to cater for the comfort of disabled passengers by installing passenger lifts and stair lifts.

But we continue to place the greatest importance on the atmosphere on board. The Scylla AG crews are well-known for their friendliness. The multi-lingual, international crew members look after the passengers‘ well-being from morning to night.
