168 Kilos of Cocaine Found in Container in Mexico

zoom Mexican law enforcement agencies have seized 168.58 kilos of cocaine found in one of the containers that had been unloaded from the Hong Kong-flagged MOL Grandeur that docked in the Port of Manzanillo earlier this week, the countrys Office of the Attorney-General (PGR) informed on October 4.  The joint operation was carried out by PGRs Criminal Investigation Agency (AIC), the Secretariat of the Navy of Mexico (Semar), and the Maritime Customs of Manzanillo. The investigators found 156 packets of cocaine packed in four black sports bags. The container in which the bags were found was loaded onto the 5,605 TEU MOL Grandeur in the Port of Callao, Peru, and was reportedly destined for Japan. The ship left Manzanillo on October 3 setting sail for Tokyo. The 2011-built MOL Grandeur is managed by Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement (India). World Maritime News Staff; Image: PGR
