2M Partners Resume TA3 Calls at APMT Rotterdam

Port of Rotterdam Danish container shipping company Maersk Line and Swiss-based Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) are resuming their calls at APM Terminal in Rotterdam on their jointly operated Transatlantic service as of next week. The return will be inaugurated by Liberia-flagged MSC Charleston on September 28, 2017, two months after the duo switched to Europe Container Terminals (ECT) in Rotterdam, Maersk Line said in an update. As World Maritime News reported earlier, the joint Transatlantic TA3 service between Europe and North America was diverted from APM Terminals to ECT in Rotterdam in July 2017 amid delays experienced at APMTR following the cyber attack on Maersk Groups facilities. The impacted vessels were Maersk Kawasaki, Maersk Kure, MSC Charleston, and Maersk Kowloon. The notPetya cyber attack from June 27 hit several of Maersk’s 76 APM terminals, costing Maersk Group up to USD 300 million. APMT Maasvlakte 2 at the Port of Rotterdam was one of the hardest hit terminals with only 1 vessel berthing between June 28 and July 6. During the days following the cyber attack, the terminal stopped all loading and discharging activities, resulting in delays. World Maritime News Staff
