350 kg of Cocaine Found in a Container at Malta Freeport zoomIllustration; Image Courtesy: European Shippers' Council Maltese customs inspectors have seized more than 300 kg of cocaine while inspecting a container at Malta Freeport. The name of a ship, which was carrying the container from Ecuador to Spain and made a stop in Malta, was not disclosed. Maltas Customs Department said the cocaine was discovered in hold-all bags in the container supposedly containing cans of pineapple. It is estimated that the haul has a street value of tens of millions of euro, the Customs Department said in a statement. Joseph Muscat, Prime Minister of Malta, said in a tweet that the cocaine haul was the biggest in the countrys history.
