Abu Dhabi Ports Starts Digital Vessel Ops Abu Dhabi Ports Port developer and operator Abu Dhabi Ports has launched its digital Vessel Management System which enables automation of all vessel management processes and services through the Port Community System, Maqta Gateway.  Through the new system, all vessel arriving at any of Abu Dhabis commercial ports will be able to process the needed formalities and exchange unified digital information with the Port Community. Services covered by the system include vessel registration, voyage declaration, vessel call requests, as well as requesting port clearance, marine services and berth shifting. According to Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, the Vessel Management System will play an integral role in streamlining and facilitating the import and export activities at Abu Dhabis ports. Maqta Gateway’s Port Community System is transforming the logistics supply chain and is enhancing the competitiveness of Abu Dhabi’s maritime and trade industry, Noura Al Dhaheri, General Manager of Maqta Gateway, said. Shipping agents representing vessels operating in Khalifa Port, Musaffah Port, Zayed Port and the Free Ports have concluded the vessel management training module conducted by the Maqta Gateway team in September, ahead of its full implementation this month.
