Adonia Sets Off on Historic Voyage to Cuba zoomPhoto: Carnival Corp Fathoms Adonia departed Miami on May 1 and is en route to Havana to become the first cruise ship to sail from the USA to Cuba in over 50 years, according to local media. The 704-passenger Adonia is expected to reach Havana on Monday, May 2, between 7 and 9 am, local time. The cruise ship is carrying around 700 passengers, some of which are Cuban-born individuals. Adonia will sail to Cuba every other week with the seven-day itineraries departing from PortMiami on Sunday afternoon, and arriving to Havana in the morning hours of the next day. Fathom is a Florida-based subsidiary of Carnival Corporation specializing in the so-called social impact travels. The Miami-based cruise operator announced in October 2015 that its Fathom brand will start offering a 7-day cruise to Cuba with three port calls Havana, Cienfuegos and Santiago de Cuba.
