Afai Southern to Build Four Coastal Rescue Vessels
Afai Southern and Rescue & Salvage Bureau of Ministry of Transport signed, on April 25th, the design and construction contracts for four coastal fast rescue vessels.
Afai has already delivered three coastal fast rescue vessels in 2006, at present the shipyard is building three more vessels. These vessels are full aluminum wave-piercing catamarans, with the overall length of 49.9m, beam of 13.1m, depth of 4.5m, propelled by twin engines and twin water jets, with large deck area, fine navigability, high speed and maneuverability.
The coastal fast rescue vessels of China rescue & salvage system are mainly used to undertake social public welfare task of human life rescue speedily at coastal sea area. The vessels can carry max. 200 rescued people, and meet the related requirements of the CCS rules and regulations for high speed vessels.
