Another Car Carrier Gets Stuck at Southampton Docks

zoom Another car carrier has been left stranded in Southampton water for a week after it got stuck at Southampton docks, writes the UKs Daily Echo. The RoRo vessel G Poseidon got in trouble in rough seas causing some of its cargo to break free and sustain damage, the newspaper added citing an undisclosed source at the docks. The vessel, owned by G Poseidon Corporation, is reported to have ruptured its hull. As informed, the Panama-flagged vessel has managed to reach Southampton last Friday where the damage assessment of the vessel is underway. There have been no reported injuries or pollution. The 72, 408-ton car carrier was built in 2011 by Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries and is managed by Doriko Limited from South Korea. Car carrier Hoegh Osaka, which grounded almost three weeks ago off Southampton, has been in the centre of media attention as efforts to upright and tow the vessel to the port dragged along.
