Arcadia Shipmanagements Entire Fleet Goes Green

zoomIllustration; Image Courtesy: Arcadia Shipmanagement After its latest fleet addition received the Green Award certificate, the Greece-based Arcadia Shipmanagements whole tanker fleet is now green, with remaining newbuilding vessels to follow suit. Namely, the companys first of six Suezmax oil tanker newbuildings, MT Aegean Marathon was submitted for Green Award certification following its delivery in May 2016. The 159,000 dwt Aegean Marathon passed the inspection with flying colors, the certification organization said, adding that not a single finding was issued. Meanwhile, the companys second newbuilt Suezmax, MT Aegean Dream, was submitted for certification. Arcadia Shipmanagement plans to have all of the six newbuildings, which are currently under construction at South Koreas Hyundai Heavy Industries, certified by Green Award. The companys remaining vessels are scheduled for delivery in 2016 and 2017. Green Award assesses the quality, safety and environmental protection standards of a ship manager and its ships. Requirements cover a wide range of aspects including ship equipment, emissions, human factor, management and implementation of the best practices.
