Atlantska Plovidba Cancels Order for Two Ultramaxes

Atlantska Plovidba Croatian shipping company Atlantska Plovidba d.d. has reached an agreement with the Chinese shipbuilder CSC Qingshan Shipyard to terminate a contract for the construction of two Ultramax vessels. Atlantska Plovidba did not disclose the reasons behind the cancellation. The 63,800 dwt bulk carriers were ordered in February 2014. The deal between the parties also in included an option for a third bulk carrier. The Ultramax order replaced the previously ordered 38,000 dwt handysize Green Dolphins, which were placed in April 2013, Atlantska Plovidba earlier said. Atlantska Plovidba operates a fleet of 17 bulk carriers and has one 38,700 Green Dolphin vessel under construction. World Maritime News Staff
