Bahri Dry Bulk Takes Delivery of Newbuild Vessel
The National Shipping Company of Saudi Arabia (Bahri) announced that its subsidiary Bahri Dry Bulk had received a dry bulk vessel named Bahri Arasco in Japan on Friday, November 29, 2013. This is the first of five expected deliveries. The vessels were ordered in 2012.
Bahri announced in April 2012 that Bahri Dry Bulk had signed a contract to build 5 dry bulk ships with one of the leading ship yards in Japan. These vessels have a capacity of 82,000 dwt and length of 229 meters, consume less fuel and integrate an eco-friendly sign. The Company started its operation through chartering out 5 vessels to Arasco that will be replaced by the new vessels.
Four vessels remain under construction and are expected to be delivered in the first half of 2014.
