Blast Injures Two Petrobras Platform Workers zoom Two workers sustained burns in a blast that occurred on Wednesday morning on board the P-56 offshore oil production vessel, operated by Brazils oil major Petrobras, Brazilian petroleum union informed. According to Federação Única dos Petroleiros (FUP), the workers sustained first and second-degree burns in a fire that followed after the explosion. The explosion is reported to had happened in an electrical panel on the platform. Petrobras confirmed the accident, saying that one of the injured workers from taken to shore for medical treatment, whereas the other remained on the platform, Reuters reported. As informed, the oil production has been suspended from the platform, situated in the Marlim Sul field, some 110km off the northern shore of the Rio de Janeiro state. Petrobras put the  semi-submersible platform P-56 into operation in the Campos Basin’s Marlim Sul field, in 2011. World Maritime News Staff
