Body of Man Found after Louisiana Rig Explosion USCG Authorities have located the body of a man who went missing following an oil platform explosion in Lake Pontchartrain, Louisiana on October 15. The Jefferson Parish Sheriffs Office informed that the body of the 44-year-old man, Timothy Morrison, was recovered on October 20 on the lakes shoreline in Jefferson Parish. The United States Coast Guard launched a search and rescue operation for the missing man after the incident, however, the operation was suspended on October 16. The authorities from Jefferson Parish continued their search efforts and on Friday spotted the body from a helicopter. At the time of the explosion there were at least eight people on board the platform, which is operated by Clovelly Oil Co. The workers were reportedly conducting cleaning tasks on the platforms pipes when the explosion occurred. Louisiana State Police HAZMAT Division is investigating the cause of the explosion.
