Bomb Scare at Lithuanian FSRU

zoom A bomb threat interrupted gas supply on Wednesday from Lithuanias recently inaugurated liquefied natural gas (LNG) import terminal. The bomb threat at Klaipeda LNG terminal turned out to be a hoax as confirmed by the special forces teams, who, after several hours of testing, determined that the threat was false. Klaipedos Nafta Spokeswoman, Indre Miliniene, told World Maritime News that a woman had called and said: There is a bomb under the Independence. The hoax particularly was directed towards the LNG terminal, she added. The gas supply was resumed on the same day after official confirmation that the threat was a false alarm. The LNG storage vessel Independence was built for Lithuania in South Korea by Norwegian company Höegh LNG in association with South Korean company Hyundai Heavy Industries. Lithuania has leased the LNG storage vessel Independence from Norwegian company Höegh LNG. The vessel arrived in Klaipėda, Lithuania in October 2014. World Maritime News Staff; Image: Höegh LNG
