Bulker Grounds at Brazils Port of Santos

Shipspotting A bulk carrier, loaded with a cargo of 30,000 tonnes of soybeans, ran aground at Brazils port of Santos during loading operations, Reuters cited undisclosed officials. After arriving at the port on May 31, the 81,162 dwt Tong Shun encountered difficulties on Thursday. There were no reports of injuries or pollution following the incident. According to AIS data provided by MarineTraffic, the 2014-built bulker is still moored at the port. There are no indications when the vessel could be permitted to continue its journey. The 229-meter-long bulker, flying the flag of Panama, is operated by China-based shipping company Qingdao Da Tong International Shipping. The exact cause of the grounding is not known.
