Bureau Veritas Takes Over TMC Marine

Bureau Veritas French classification society Bureau Veritas has acquired TMC Marine, a London-based company specializing in providing pre and post casualty advice and support to the marine industry. TMCs business focuses on marine claims and accident investigations, salvage and wreck removal consultancy as well as on marine expert witness services. TMC Marine has offices in the US, China, Singapore and Australia and currently employs more than 50 people. TMC is a recognized brand that enables the group to enhance its offering to the marine insurance consultancy market, thereby expanding the services that we already provide in offshore to the maritime market,” Didier Michaud-Daniel, CEO of Bureau Veritas comments. This is a strategic alliance that will provide TMC with technical synergies and greatly enhance the services we can offer to new and existing clients while at the same time continuing our plan of further geographic expansion”  Tony Bowman, Chairman of TMC points out. TMC has been involved recently in providing assistance and advice on the fuel oil and containers removal operation of TS Taipei a containership that ran aground off Taiwanese coast in March.
