Canaveral Port Picks CH2M to Design New Cruise Terminal

CH2M Floridas Canaveral Port Authority has awarded a contract to CH2M to design a new terminal to support the ports cruise business. As explained, the project is in line with Port Canaverals vision to accommodate further growth for the worlds second-busiest cruise port. The cruise business currently accounts for 80 percent of the ports revenue. The new terminal will join the ports Cruise Terminal One, also designed by CH2M, in its ability to serve ships like Royal Caribbeans Oasis-class, with capacities of more than 5,400 passengers. The berth is also expected to strengthen Port Canaverals position as an in-demand port-of-call. In addition to the design of the proposed 1,400-foot-long terminal berth, CH2M will provide permit support, dredging, bidding support and construction support as part of its waterside engineering design and permitting services contract.
