CMA CGM Attila Hits Dock in Vancouver CMA CGM Attile leaving Seattle on August 26
The allision caused significant delays in the Port of Vancouver, forcing several container ships to change their scheduled arrivals, including Maersk Clementine, for which the company said it would skip the Port of Vancouver and unload its cargo in Seattle. The cargo will then be transferred to Chicago via rail, where it will be rolled to CMA CGM La Scala.
Vesselfinder reports that the 335-meter Attila was on its way from Seattle  carrying 5,900 TEU of cargo. The allision left a one-metre hole on one of the vessels starboard ballast tanks.
The quayside at DP Worlds Centerm Terminal was also damaged. The vessel is to remain at berth during the course of the investigation.
The TSB is currently gathering information, and will assess the occurrence.
