CMA CGM Hires Diana Containerships Post-Panamax
Diana Containerships Nasdaq-listed containership owner Diana Containerships has entered into a time charter contract with French shipping company CMA CGM for one of its Post-Panamax container vessels, the M/V Rotterdam. The gross charter rate is USD 6,890 per day for a period of minimum eight to maximum eleven months, with the charter expected to commence on March 7, 2017. The firm said that the employment of the 6,494 TEU ship is anticipated to generate around USD 1.65 million of gross revenue for the minimum scheduled period of the time charter. The 80,000 dwt Rotterdam was built at Japanese Koyo Dock shipyard in 2008. Previously, the boxship worked for Danish shipping company Maersk Line, Dianas data shows. Diana’s fleet currently consists of twelve container vessels six Post-Panamaxes and six Panamaxes.
