CONTI Orders LR1 Trio at Jiangsu New Hantong

zoom Germanys CONTI-Group has placed an order with Chinese shipbuilder Jiangsu New Hantong Ship Heavy Industry (NHT) for three LR1 74,000 DWT tankers, the shipbuilder said. As informed, the tankers, designed by Shanghai Merchant Ship Design & Research Institute (SDARI) are slated for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2017. NHT did not reveal the financial details of the order. CONTI-Group is one of the worlds biggest managing owners of ships with a clear focus on container vessels. The company also manages and owns tankers, bulk carriers and cruise vessels. It has 78 owned and 16 third-party vessels, out of these ten are takers, based on the data available on the companys website. World Maritime News Staff
