Coscol Adds Two Asphalt Carriers

zoom Shanghai-listed Cosco Shipping (Coscol) has through its subsidiary Cosco Southern Asphalt ordered two 13,000 dwt bitumen/asphalt carriers at its compatriot yard Wuchang Shipbuilding. Cosco Southern currently has 11 asphalt carriers in its fleet totaling in 72,300 dwt. The company said it would pay CNY 163m (USD 26.2m) for each vessel. The financing will be provided from the companys own reserves and external sources, the announcement read. The duo is slated to join Coscos fleet by the end of 2016.
