Delta Tankers to Add Newbuild Tanker Duo
zoomIllustration; Image Courtesy: Delta Tankers Greek shipowner Delta Tankers has reached an agreement to purchase two Suezmax tanker newbuilds from the Germany-based Johann MK Blumenthal GmbH. The tankers, constructed by South Koreas shipbuilder Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries, are scheduled to be completed in June and July 2017, respectively. Each featuring 160,000 dwt, the vessels were purchased for a price of USD 57.5 million a piece, according to data provided by VesselsValue. At 84,500 gross tons, the 274-meter-long tankers will be added to Delta Tankers fleet of 25 vessels, including seventeen Suezmaxes, six Aframaxes, one LR1 tanker and a very large crude carrier (VLCC).
