DP World Australia Spot On with Container Weighing DP World Australia Container terminal stevedore DP World Australia (DPWA) achieved 100 percent verified gross mass (VGM) of all containers traveling through its Australian ports at the weekend, following changes to SOLAS regulation that entered into force July 1. The changes mean that every export container leaving Australia meets the requirements of SOLAS, giving full visibility of cargo mass to customers vessels. DPWA said it jointly developed with 1-Stop in Australia additional mandatory fields to the PRA process to ensure information being captured from the shipper is accurate and supports the requirements from the regulator the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA). The changes to SOLAS legislation apply to every export container leaving Australia. No container will be shipped unless the VGM is validated prior to entering our terminal, DP World Australia said.
