EdgeTech 4600 Received Positively at Seatronics Tech Day

EdgeTech said its EdgeTech 4600 Combined Bathymetry & Side Scan Sonar System was met with rave reviews at a large underwater technology demonstration and training event hosted by Seatronics in Abu Dhabi. More than 70 attendees of last week’s Seatronics Tech Day came aboard to witness the EdgeTech 4600 perform shallow water survey operations in Khor Al-RahaHarbor, the company said.

With depths as shallow as 1 meter, the EdgeTech 4600’s 200 degree swath coverage was able to capture high resolution swath bathymetry and side scan imagery which revealed heavy dredge scarring along the channel bottom. The simultaneous acquisition of side scan imagery and bathymetric point data tremendously reduces acquisition time. In addition, the coregistered bathymetry and side scan data can be geo-referenced with much higher precision and without the processing burden associated with combining the data sets when acquired independently.
