Egypts LNG Import Terminal Arrives

zoom The floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) Hoegh Gallant has arrived off Ain Sukhna bringing 160,000 cubic metres of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to energy-craving Egypt, Reuters reports citing an unnamed official. Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) chartered the vessel for a period of five years in November 2014. The vessel, with the capacity of 170, 051 cubic metres will serve as Egypts first LNG import terminal. It was built in 2014 by South Koreas shipbuilding conglomerate Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI). EGAS has already secured a considerable number of LNG cargoes, including 3 LNG cargoes from Trafigura , 9 from Vitol, 7 from Noble, and 6 from Algerias Sonatrach, slated for delivery this and next year.
