Fighter Plane Kills Two Tanker Crewmen in Libya
zoom Two men died and two were injured when an unidentified fighter plane attacked a tanker moored in the Port of Derna, Lybia, the Hellenic Coast Guard reports. At the time of the attack, the 28,610 DWT M/T Araevo, owned and operated by Aegean Oil, was carrying 12,600 tons of oil, with a twenty-six person crew on board, three Greeks, twenty-one Filipinos and two Romanians. The Hellenic Coast Guard reported that one of the crewmembers who died in the attack was a 29-year-old Greek, also saying that the other three victims were not Greeks. Image: Peter J.
