Finnish Dockworker Crushed to Death by Containers

zoom A dockworker was crushed to death when caught between two containers on deck of a vessel during loading operations at Vuosaari Harbour in Helsinki, Finland, in the afternoon hours of October 22. The deceased was an employee of the cargo handling operator Finnsteve Oy Ab, a subsidiary of Finnlines. Finnlines did not disclose any details about the unfortunate employee, saying only that he/she died at the scene. Local police have been called in to investigate the cause of death and the course of events. Apart from Helsinki, Finnsteve also operates at the Port of Turku.
