Fire Hits Rumo Sugar Terminal in Port of Santos zoom A fire broke out at Brazilian Port of Santos Rumo sugar terminal on July 14, causing temporary stoppage of operations at the facility, a representative of Santos Port Authority told World Maritime News. The fire, which started at 4:00 a.m. in a conveyor of the plant, was extinguished some two hours later by the local fire departments, the representative added. There were no injuries reported following the incident, and the damage was contained to the affected terminal. Port of Santos operations returned to normal after the fire was extinguished.
