Four Injured in Chemical Tanker Blast in Ulsan

zoomHanyang Ace Four crewmen aboard the chemical tanker Hanyang Ace were injured in an explosion and a gas leak that occurred on the ships cargo deck while it was being loaded with nitric and sulphuric acid in Ulsan, South Korea, on January 11, The Kyunghyang Shinmun reports.  One person suffered facial burns, while the other three suffered injuries to their respiratory systems, supposedly from inhaling the leaked gas. All four injured were transported to a local hospital where they are currently being treated. The remaining ten crew members aboard the tanker at the time of the accident suffered no injuries from the explosion. South Korean Coast Guard is currently investigating the cause of the explosion. No pollution has been reported so far. Hanyang Ace is a 1996-built, 2,618 dwt chemical tanker owned and operated by South Koreas Nhl Development Seoul.
