Hingle/Greenpeace Harbour Master at Izmit Bay, Turkey, has halted all inward and outward traffic due to a fuel oil spill located in the sea, GAC informed. The source of the spill is a leak at one of the shore tanks at Poliport Terminal, GAC said. According to GAC, a significant amount of fuel oil spilled into the sea. Traffic will remain suspended until further notice. Izmit Bay or Gulf of Izmit is located at the eastern part of the Sea of Marmara, Kocaeli Province.
