Fujairah Ports VLCC Berth 1 Put to Work Port of Fujairah The VLCC Berth 1 at the Port of Fujairah, UAE, has commenced operation on August 24, 2016, following the completion of its construction in June this year.  First vessel was already accepted for cargo discharge and the second vessel for loading is scheduled to arrive at the port on September 5, 2016, Wilhelmsen Ships Service informs. In addition to Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCCs), the VLCC jetty can accommodate Aframax and Suezmax vessels as well, according to the port authority. At present, oil storage company Vopak has only VLCC connections to discharge/load crude oil. However, other terminals can also use the berth in the near future if lines are extended by their own. The depth of the VLCC Jetty-1 is 26 meters. The berth can accommodate vessels with a maximum length overall (LOA) of 344 meters and the minimum LOA of 240 meters.
