G6 Alliance Fuses Asia North America West Coast Services

Hapag-Lloyd Container carriers within the G6 Alliance are reshuffling their Asia–North America West Coast loops to adjust to market demand. As the G6 Alliance continues to review its product profiles, the Central China 1 (CC1) and CC2 will be merged into a combined service until further notice. The CC1/CC2 Combo service will have the following port rotation and effective sailings: Qingdao – Ningbo – Shanghai (Waigaoqiao) (China) – Kwangyang – Busan (South Korea)– Los Angeles/Long Beach – Oakland (USA)– Busan – Qingdao. The Combo service will effectively have the same port rotation as CC1, with the addition of Ningbo and Long Beach calls previously covered by CC2. The 8,888 TEU OOCL Utah will start the first eastbound sailing on the Combo service from Qingdao on July 30. The same boxship will head westbound from Los Angeles/Long Beach on August 18. All other services of the G6 Alliance covering Asia to North America West Coast remain unchanged. The G6 Alliance members include APL, Hapag-Lloyd, Hyundai Merchant Marine, Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Nippon Yusen Kaisha and Orient Overseas Container Line.
