G6 Upgrades Asia-North America Services

zoom Global container lines gathered under the umbrella of the G6 Alliance have announced a series of changes to their Asia – North America services in response to market demands. The G6 Alliance is adding a permanent call to Koreas Pusan port within its CC2 (Central China 2) service. Transit times from other origins will remain unchanged. The new port rotation will be as follows: Ningbo – Shanghai – Pusan – Long Beach – Ningbo. The new rotation will take effect starting with the voyage of OOCL Kuala Lumpur from Ningbo on June 28, scheduled to call at Long Beach on July 16. The SC1 (South China 1) service will be upgraded to include an additional eastbound Kaohsiung call. The new port rotation will be as follows: Xiamen – Chiwan – Yantian – Kaohsiung – Los Angeles – Oakland – Kaohsiung Xiamen. The first vessel within the enhanced SC1 service will be APL Houston, leaving from Xiamen on July 1, and arriving to Los Angeles on July 20. The G6 Alliance members include APL, Hapag-Lloyd, Hyundai Merchant Marine, Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Nippon Yusen Kaisha, and Orient Overseas Container Line.
