Girl Dies after Falling from Carnival Glory

zoomThe Carnival Glory cruises off the coast of Florida. An 8-year-old girl died following a fall from a Carnival Cruise Lines ship, Carnival Glory, while the ship was docked at PortMiami on October 14. As informed, the girl fell from a deck in the ships interior atrium to a lower deck. The cause of the fall is yet to be determined by the relevant authorities. The ships medical team responded immediately and the child was transported to the ships medical center. The ships command immediately contacted Miami Dade Police Department which was on site.  She was subsequently transferred via ambulance to a local hospital where, tragically, she succumbed to her injuries. Our most heartfelt condolences are with the family at this very difficult time, Carnival said in a statement to World Maritime News. The 2,974-passenger vessel has been handed over to the company by the authorities and its latest AIS data show that it has arrived in George Town, the Cayman Islands. World Maritime News Staff
