Gothenburg Port Bolsters Belgium Ro-Ro Services

Gothenburg RoRo Terminal Last week, CLdN started its new service between Logent Ports & Terminals at the Port of Gothenburg and Zeebrugge in Belgium. It was also announced that the shipping company SOL will take over the transport of Stora Ensos volumes from Gothenburg Roro to Zeebrugge. The Port of Gothenburg now has three ro-ro services to Belgium. Last week the first ship departed on the new CLdN service from Logent Ports & Terminals at the Port of Gothenburg. The route will be served by CLdNs own vessels, Adeline, Celandine and Celestine, which will berth at the Brittanniadok terminal in Zeebrugge. The vessels will carry trailers, containers and cars. There will be six departures each week. It was also announced that the shipping company SOL will take over the transport of Stora Ensos paper exports from Gothenburg Roro. Stora Ensos products will, as previously, be loaded in what are known as SECU boxes. On the return leg, from Zeebrugge to Gothenburg, the boxes will be filled with loads from other companies. There will also be the opportunity to ship export goods in empty SECU boxes and SOL will sell space on the ships for trailers and containers. The service will continue to be operated using the vessels Slingeborg and Schieborg, which will dock at the Wielingen Terminal in Zeebrugge. There will be four departures each week. The shipping company DFDS Seaways already operates a service from Gothenburg to Ghent in Belgium. This means that the Port of Gothenburg now has three ro-ro services with a total of 16 departures to Belgium every week. Press Release; Image: Port of Gothenburg
