Great Eastern Shipping Adds Dry Bulk Newbuild

zoom Indias largest private liquid, gas and solid bulk shipping company The Great Eastern Shipping Company has taken delivery of its newbuild Kamsarmax dry bulk carrier named Jag Arnav. The vessel of about 81,600 dwt was built by the Japanese shipbuilder Tsuneishi Heavy Industries, at its overseas outpost in Cebu, the Philippines. With the inclusion of the vessel, The Great Eastern Shipping Companys current fleet stands at 30 vessels, comprising 21 tankers (8 crude carriers, 12 product tankers, 1 LPG carrier) and 9 dry bulk carriers (4 Kamsarmax and 5 Supramax) with an average age of 9.6 years aggregating 2.4 million dwt. Great Eastern has one more identical vessel on order at Tsuneishis Cebu shipyard, as well as a 50,000 dwt Medium Range (MR) product tanker ordered at STX (Dalian) Shipbuilding, and three 82,000 dwt Kamsarmax dry bulk carriers to be built by Jiangsu New Yangzi Shipbuilding in China. All five newbuilds are expected to be delivered in 2016.
