Höegh Autoliners Sells 16th PCTC for Recycling

Höegh Autoliners Norwegian RoRo shipping company Höegh Autoliners sold its 1988-built Pure Car and Truck Carrier MV Morning Mercator for recycling on November 15. The company said that the vessel will be recycled at Chinas shipbreaking yard Jiang Men City Zhong Xin Shipbreaking & Steel Co., as part of Höegh Autoliners green recycling policy, under supervision by Grieg Green. This is the 16th car carrier we have sold for green recycling since 2009. We are pleased to use a recycling yard which have successfully recycled several of our vessels in recent years, and that Grieg Green will supply services to safeguard safe and environmentally friendly recycling, Steinar Løvdal, Chief Operating Officer Deep Sea, said. Previously named Hual Tricorn, the 23,100 dwt ship, which was built by South Koreas Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering, has a length of 200 meters and a width of 32 meters. The company sold its 15th car carrier, the 1980-built Höegh Tropicana, for green recycling in China in December 2013.
