Hilli Episeyo Sets Sail from Singapore to Cameroon

Golar LNG The worlds first converted floating liquefaction (FLNG) unit Hilli Episeyo has departed Singapore and is on its way to Cameroon for LNG bunkering ops. The vessel set sail at 10 am local time on October 12, earlier than anticipated, due to the operational decision to complete LNG bunkering in Cameroon rather than in Singapore, owner and operator of LNG carriers Golar LNG said. The company added that the voyage to Cameroon is expected to take between 32 and 40 days. Hilli Episeyo was converted from a 1975-built Moss LNG carrier with a storage capacity of 125,000 cubic meters at the Keppel Shipyard over a period of three years. Having reached mechanical completion, the vessel departed the shipyard on October 1 and was moved to the deep-water water anchorage for final marine commissioning. Designed for a liquefaction capacity of about 2.4 million tons of LNG per year, the ship will operate offshore Kribi, Cameroon for Société Nationale des Hydrocarbures and Perenco Cameroon SA, and will be the first FLNGV project in Africa.
